Djerassi Resident Artists Program
Founded in 1979 by birth control pill pioneer Dr. Carl Djerassi to honor the memory of his daughter Pamela, a painter and poet, the Djerassi Resident Artists Program provides a sanctuary for artists and writers to work in peaceful isolation in a spectacular rural setting.
Broken Arrow Ranch
Neil Young's Woodside ranch straddles a spectacular mountaintop between the Pacific Coast and the San Francisco Bay and is home to Young's private Redwood Digital recording studio. But unless you are in Pearl Jam or your first name's Jewel, you'll probably never see it.

4.5-mile hike that descends into a remote redwood canyon with a creek, then rises back through forests.
Wunderlich County Park
A 940-acre rustic park with 25 miles of well-maintained trails for hikers and equestrians through diverse and scenic terrain. Bicycles prohibited. From the Woodside exit of Highway 280, head east on Highway 84. Go to Sky Londa and Highway 35 (Skyline Blvd.) Turn right (north), go 2.5 miles to trailhead on right (signed Bay Ridge Trail). There's limited parking available on road shoulder.
